Free Holiday Family Program

Get out of the house over winter break and bring the whole family to the Nasher to explore Cosmic Rhythm Vibrations. Make art, shake a leg and take part in other family-friendly activities all for free! The Nasher is free and open from 10 AM – 9 PM every Thursday. Wonderful World of Worms

Our Kids’ Events are an opportunity for kids to connect with and learn about nature. We love planting seeds of curiosity or love that will grow with your children.  Each session includes a story time, lesson, craft, snack and garden/nature walk.  These sessions are primarily for kids ages 3-10, but all ages are welcome.  Parental/guardian supervision is appreciated!

A special guest will be here with her box of worms and teach us about a worm’s habitat. Kids will be able to hold, feed and make bedding for the worm bin. We will also have a story and snack time, as well as make wiggle worms using pipe cleaners and beads. Cost: $5/participant  REGISTER NOW!

Kids will learn about our pond ecosystems including life above and below the pond. Cost includes story time, snack, and feeding the ducks and goats. They’ll also make a paper plate magnetic duck pond to take home.  Cost: $7/participant  REGISTER NOW!

Tiger Tales Tour

Are you looking for a fun way to spend the morning with your son, daughter, niece, nephew, or grandchild? Then Carolina Tiger Rescue’s Tiger Tales Tour is just right for you. You’ll join one of our trained team members for a fun and engaging story time before creating an animal themed take-home craft. After all masterpieces are created you¹ll head out into the sanctuary for an opportunity to see some of our most iconic resident animals up close. This tour is only offered once a month, so get your tickets today!

Build a Birdhouse

For ages 6 & up with accompanying adult.

Learn all about the tiny but mighty Brown-headed Nuthatch and how to build the perfect birdhouse for this cavity-nesting songbird that needs our help. All supplies included.

Skater Rollies (Grades 3-5)

DIY Sensory Snake

Families are invited to create a Sensory Snake toy. A Sensory Snake is an easy way to calm sensory seekers through deep pressure. Make a snake with recycled materials. Registration is required.

Origami Club

The fold’s the thing! Origami enthusiasts of North Durham are invited to a monthly folding event on the second Tuesday of every month.

If you’re interested in learning or teaching origami, or if you’re a member of Origami USA, you definitely don’t want to miss this. Paper will be provided but feel free to bring your supplies as well.
